19 January 1992
Show dated by the fact that Kershaw mentions that Cobra are in session on the Peel show that follows his.
Says that Peel bought him the Derrick Harriott single.
Complains about the studio chair.
Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians. First broadcast of session recorded in AK's kitchen on 2 November 1991.
[Recording begins from start of the show. Tape L089 side A.]
Derrick Harriott: Moon Hop (7")
Larry Birdsong: Fannie's Place (Comp LP - R&B Volts From The VJ Vaults) Charly
Freddy de Majunga and Master Mwana Congo: Viens Danser (cassette - Les 2 As) Sono Disc
Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians: So You Think You're In Love (session)
Lou Reed: What's Good (LP - Magic & Loss) Sire
Mahendra Kapoor: Manke Nee (CD - Bhangra Hit Parade Vol 1)
AK: Don't be surprised if I disappear during the course of tonight's programme because I've got this chair tonight with a sprung-loaded back and there's something gone wrong with it and it's forcing me forward at an angle of about 45 degrees, so I'm almost banging the microphone. It's trying as well to catapult me over the desk and into the studio wall. I blame that Mark Goodier, I don't know why he has it set like this for the Top 40.
Dolly Rathebe: Ke Ya Kae le Bona (LP - Township Swing Jazz Vol 2) Celluloid
(news at 10:30 - edited out)
Ninjaman: Excuse Me (7") Mr Doo
Youssou N'Dour : Live TV (Cassette - Xippi)
[Tape flip onto L088 side A.]

Snooky Pryor: Walkin' With Snooky (LP - Too Cool To Move) Antone's Records

Lucien Bokilo du Group Loketo: La Vie La Vie (CD - Le Jeu Est Fini) Jimmy's International
Cobra: OPP (LP - Cobra Gold) Charm
[Tape flip onto L089 side B.]
Woody Guthrie: Oregon Trail (CD - Woody Guthrie Sings Folk Songs) Smithsonian Folkways
Loudon Wainwright III: Ready Or Not (So Ripe) (LP - I'm Alright) Demon
Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians: Open The Door Richard (session)
(recording ends - sounds as if the 10:30 news break is about to happen)
(L089 continues with start of AK show from 2 Feb 1992)
[Missing here is 28 mins from 10:30 news to the end of the show]
[Very end of the show found on L088 side B.]
