| The years 1989-95 roughly comprise the period when I had my finger on the pulse of the independent underground, and my record collection reflects this. This website features some of my favourite 'forgotten' bands from back then, but of course there's many, many more. So I decided to make a list. Starting with a quick dash through my own memory banks, I supplemented it with a trawl through some music papers of the time, which unearthed several more groups. There's just so many of them, waiting to be rescued from the obscurity of the cultural dustbin. You have to feel some sympathy with the people involved; all the hours spent writing, rehearsing, travelling, gigging. If they were lucky they got to release a record or two - hundreds more didn't.
